Assignment2 task2 (Cyber Bullying)

I have been asked to prepare a presentation that explainsthe social impacts of IT and discuss the potential threats.  I completed a powerpoint presentation thatdiscusses these issues with my group. I was also asked to try out new methods ofdelivering the work, using a specialist communication channel to demonstrate myability to present information in a different format.

Not only that but we will be showing you two examples of the affects of it and what we as a group think about it.


Slide 3:What is Cyberbulling all about?
Cyberbullyingis usually used to inflict emotion pain and degrade a person or group of peopleusing to communicating through the internet, or mobile phones. Cyberbullying isnot usually a onetime communication; it involves a death threat or a crediblethreat of serious bodily harm.  Childrenhave killed each other and committed suicide after having been involved in acyberbullying incident, cyberbulling sometimes can be easy to spot other timehard to spot it.

Slide 4: Who gets affected by cuber bullying?
Anyonecan be affected by cyber bullying, particularly the people who are online alot, for example, through mobile phones, social networking sites.

Teenagersare especially at risk because they are going through the development stage ofthem growing up and some are vulnerable to bullying.

Adultsare affected by bullying e.g. we have found an article about young teachersbeing accused due to a comment on Twitter.

Asa result some young teachers are being forced out or put off teaching.
Slide 5: Why does it happen

Being a victim of cyber bullying is hard, mostly when it is unclear as to why you are being harassed. But when it continually bothers you and the frightening threats continue to flash your computer or cell phone, they become harder to ignore.




 Slide 6: 9things you can do to stop bulling

1.Learn to recognize cyber bullying

2.Figure out when the cyber bullying began and the cause

3.Ignore the bully

4.Block the bully.

5.Tell a trusted adult, parent, or teacher

6.Don't delete the messages

7.Deactivate social networking accounts

8.Report the person

9.Don't retaliate


Slide 7:Statistics About Cyber Bullying

Nearlyone in five UK youngsters has been victims of cyber bullying, with girlsaffected more than boys.

•69%of children in the UK report being bullied

•87%of parents report that their child had been bullied

•20%report bullying others

•85%had witnessed bullying

Bullyingis one of the most reasons for children to be withdrawn from the school systemaltogether and educated at home.

We all know how a virus can spread and the effect it has on our body. Cyber-bullying is the same, it damages people and makes them low. Because of this, I decided to upload a video showing an example of the effect cyber-bullying has and how fast the bullying can spread.
